Sustainability
At Hisense Europe, sustainability is our strategic direction, way of thinking and the central pillar of our business. We understand sustainability as a long-term commitment to responsibly creating value for the environment, society and the economy, striving for measurable and concrete results.
Through a holistic approach to business, we balance environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects and systematically integrate them into all levels of our operations – from product development and production to the supply chain and employee care.
With our sustainability focus at Hisense Europe, we actively reduce our environmental footprint, increase energy efficiency, promote a circular economy and strengthen our local and European supply network. At the same time, we put people at the heart of our business, ensuring safe, inclusive and fair working conditions and contributing to the development of the communities in which our companies operate.
Hisense Europe Sustainability Strategy
Our Sustainability Strategy applies to all companies in the group and to all product groups. It defines six priority areas:
- Manufacturing,
- Product,
- Supply Chain,
- People,
- Governance,
- Corporate Citizenship.
Short, medium and long-term goals are clearly defined for all areas. Based on the sustainability strategy, we plan project funds within the framework of the annual budgeting process. The sustainability strategy is integrated into our business strategy and supports its implementation of values that encourage us to be customer-focused, results-oriented and reliable.
Based on the defined strategy, key operational goals have been set, which include reducing greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3), increasing energy efficiency, improving the circularity of products in terms of recyclability and use of materials, strengthening the sustainability of the supply chain, improving working practices and social standards, and reducing the environmental impact of production.
To achieve these goals, we plan to implement several key projects and activities every year.
The sustainability strategy and systematic approach to sustainability management were further confirmed by the platinum EcoVadis award, which places our company Gorenje gospodinjski aparati, among the top 1% of the best-rated companies in the world. The award confirms our progress in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable supply chain management, and represents additional confirmation of the company's focus on long-term and responsible business.
